Apple Tree Pollination Charts

Apple trees require cross-pollination with another apple or crabapple variety. While bees, bats and other pollinators do the work of spreading pollen, apple trees should be planted near varieties that promote cross-pollination. Best fruit set occurs when the king blossomthe largest and first blossom to open within a flower clusteris pollinated. For pollination to take place, the bloom period of the pollinizer and the king blossoms of the apple tree must overlap.

Take a look at the bloom periods of different apple tree varieties and which apple tree types are or are not pollinators. Plant your new apple trees near a known pollinator to start growing delicious apples.
